The Himalayan is a man made breed developed by crossing Persians with Siamese.
In today’s modern world the Siamese is no longer part of the Himalayan breeding program.
The Himalayan is considered to be a medium sized cat breed.
Today the “Himmie” is one of the most popular of pedigreed cat breeds.
Himalayan Cat Facts – The Himalayan cat breed eyes come one colour which is a deep but vivid shade of blue.
The Himalayan breed come in what can be classed as two different looks, referred to as extreme and traditional.
Extreme – have a flatter face more often seen in shows, Traditional – face that is not as flat and with the nose set lower on the face.
Lifespan: 9 to 15 years
Colour: Chocolate, Seal, Lilac, Blue, Red, Cream and Tortie along with a host of other various mixtures of these colours.
Weight: 7 to 12 pounds.

A Himalayan is an affectionate, docile and relatively quiet cat breed.
They are typically a cat breed that will sit happily on your lap or even be off playing with the children.
