The cats can look on advertising boards for two weeks from 12 Sept.
The aim is to provide a “relaxing, fun and light-hearted” space clear of commercial adverts, Cats said.
James Turner, from the collective, said: “It’s really caught people’s imagination – we all love cats.
“The idea of a restful and peaceful space simply just with pictures of pet cats is appealing. People are interested because there is no brand, no commercial reason for doing the work. ”
‘What the internet loves’
The images will be round the turnstiles (which your collective are calling pet flaps), down the escalators and before the platform. The aim is of which, wherever people look, there will be cats and kittens.
The adverts will be word-free apart from one which will highlight the task of Battersea Dogs and cats Home and Cat Protection charities.
The idea emerged from the 200-strong group called Peek, which wanted to convey how “friends and experiences are more valuable than stuff you possibly can buy” said Mr Turner.
Initially they were going to use pictures of forests along with the ocean.
“But then we thought about grabbing people’s attention and should use the one thing that the internet loves and cats were the well known items answer, ” he added.
He said he loved the concept as it was “very subversive, as there’s nothing anyone are capable of doing about it”.
“If you can’t possess a real cat, this will be the subsequent best thing, ” he added.
