活発な前線の影響で東北地方では２５日未明から、北陸地方では２５日朝から激しい雨が降っている。秋田県では雄物川が大仙市の３か所で氾濫が発生しているほか、岩手県宮古市では増水した川に車が流され、乗っていたとみられる男性の遺体が見つかった。
秋田県内では、２４日夜から激しい雨が降り、２４時間の雨量が２００ミリ以上に達したところもあった。
住民「（先月の豪雨で）冷蔵庫、洗濯機、食器棚、流し台、全部取り換えていまこういう状況なので、本当に（水が）あがらないことを祈るだけ」
国土交通省によると、この大雨で午前８時ごろ、一級河川の雄物川が大仙市の３か所で氾濫した。建物の浸水被害も出ていて、午前１１時現在、大仙市の８３３人に避難指示。秋田市や由利本荘市など広い範囲で避難勧告が出されている。
