  • I’ve had so many pets, but for dogs, I’ve had a Collie (Lassie was her great-grandfather), German Shepherd, Great Pyrenees, West Highland White Terrier, Black Lab, Yellow, Lab, and several mutts of mixed breeds. I’m 74 years old and have had dogs since I was 5. We never said to a dog (nor our cats), “bad dog” or “bad cat”. Too many times, ppl use these words with some kind of physical punishment, and the animal can/will turn against the person. I was a member of the Humane Society and came across this too many times. In all the years I owned an animal, none of them did bad things…no getting in garbage, no potty in the house, etc. Kindness in action and words goes a long way. Just a little extra…during my 69 years as a pet owner, I’ve had 2 rabbits, 3 hamsters, 2 birds, and many fish.
