About 2 million people from the world to the pilgrimage “Hajj”
イスラム教の聖地、サウジアラビアのメッカでは、大巡礼「ハッジ」が行われており、世界各地から約２００万人が訪れている。
大巡礼「ハッジ」は、イスラム教徒に義務づけられた５つの行為の１つで、イスラム教徒が一生に一度は行うべきとされている。
先月末から始まった大巡礼には、世界各地から約２００万人が訪れており、白い衣装を身にまとった巡礼者は、聖地メッカにあるカーバ神殿の周りを回るなど、数日間かけて決められた儀式を行う。
サウジアラビアは今年６月、隣国カタールと国交を断絶したが、カタール側が受け入れを要求し、巡礼者に限っては、国境の通過を認める特例措置が取られた。
また、サウジと断交したことなどで去年は巡礼を禁止したイランからも、今年は巡礼者が訪れている。
